Frame Controls

Activates the frame control for multi-frame or 3D images. Each frame control permits selection of the visible frame of one image and rapid switching of frames to create a ``movie''. If the image only has a single frame, it has no effect. The frame may be selected manually, or the time interval between frames can be adjusted for a movie. (Note: Sound is not supported.)

Click on ``Start'' to automatically change frames and ``Pause'' to stop. The interval between frames in milliseconds can be adjusted. On slower computers or with large images, the actual interval may be larger. If frame rates are too low, it may be helpful if imal is started in a screen mode that has the same depth as the image.

If the ``Stick'' pushbutton is set, the frame control dialog stays associated with its original image number, regardless of which image is selected. This allows multiple animated images to be displayed simultaneously at different frame rates.

If the ``Stick'' pushbutton is not set, the frame control dialog switches to the current image.

Movies The movie function can also be given in the command editor. The syntax is:

movie delay

where delay is the time between frames in msec. Using the command editor gives higher frame rates than the multiframe control. Be careful not to specify too short of a delay, as this will cause the computer to become unresponsive. Clicking on ``OK'', ``Cancel'', or the main Cancel button will stop the movie.
